Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas 2023

I recently went on a 7-night cruise on the Adventure of the Seas with my boyfriend and our families, along with some friends (there were 27 of us I believe!) and we had a wonderful trip! Here is our itinerary and some of my top to do’s on and off the ship.

Day 1 – Embarkation
I will say this first day is a bit overwhelming, everyone is getting on the ship, exploring, and trying to eat in the Windjammer all before the rooms are ready. Luckily for us, that happened rather quickly and we had the early seating for dinner at 5 PM so after we set sail, we headed straight to the dining room for dinner. Later in the evening, we walked all over the ship, enjoyed some gambling and cocktails before heading to bed.

Day 2 – Day at Sea
Every morning there was a chance to play pickle ball from 8 AM to 12 PM, which Tom played every. single. morning. and I joined him a few times! So today started with pickle ball and breakfast in the windjammer, definitely take advantage of the fresh fruit and waffles! We then had a relaxing day by the pool, where we watched Tom win the belly flop competition – it was quite possibly the highlight of our entire trip. We ended the night with dinner at one of the speciality restaurants, Giovanni’s Table. It was a delicious italian meal, but try the steak! I would highly recommend purchasing at least the 3-night speciality dining package, it is well worth it.

Day 3 – Roatan, Honduras
Tom and I did our one and only excursion in Honduras, and it was one of the best I’ve ever done! We took a 30 min bus ride, to a quick 5 min boat ride where we arrived at Big French Key. It was a quaint little island that had a clean beach, clear water, enough chairs for everyone, a bar, a little local shop and an area to get a massage. We enjoyed the beach for a bit before getting 30 min massages and having some drinks before the best lunch I’ve ever had on an excursion. We ended our night the same as every other night, too much food, a few cocktails and gambling in the casino 🙂

Day 4 – Belize City, Belize
We ended up staying on the ship this day to enjoy all that it has to offer while it was mostly empty. We played some games on the sports deck, laid out by the pool, and overall had a wonderful, relaxing day!
We had a date night dinner alone at another specialty restaurant, Izumi. It is the only specialty restaurant that limits you when ordering, however, we left very satisfied and the food was delicious!

Day 5 – Cozumel, Mexico
I have been to this port more times than I can count so we weren’t planning on being out late, however, we decided to have some lunch, shop around and relive our glory days at Señor Frog’s which is always a great time.

Day 6 – Day at Sea
Our last day at sea was not the prettiest of days, so my mom and I each had a massage (pro tip – check the daily massage specials each day before booking because they usually run great deals, especially when you are in port). I don’t know what it is about getting a massage on a cruise, but they are always the best, I love their products (elemis) and I always leave there very happy. We had lunch in the dining room (which they only serve on days at sea) and it was a nice change from the usual windjammer food. We finished the night off at the last (and best) specialty restaurant, Chops! It is the best dining experience and food on the ship by far. The steaks are phenomenal, they bring you all of the sides to share and the service is fantastic!

Day 7 – Perfect Day at Cococay
Unfortunately, we didn’t have great weather again, but we decided to get off the boat regardless because I had not seen the island since their ($250 Million) renovation. We took the trolley around the island to get a full view and it is WAY better than I imagined, they truly did a wonderful job, I was very impressed. The food was fantastic (all included by the way) – you must try the chicken sandwich. We had some drinks and walked over to the Beach Club area where we found the party, the sun came out and we had a blast! I am so excited that our next cruise stops here because it was such a fun day.
